YouTube Video by UNICEF - 'We All Have Rights'
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is an important agreement by countries who have promised to protect children’s rights.
The Convention explains who children are, all their rights, and the responsibilities of governments. All the rights are connected, they are all equally important and they cannot be taken away from children.

Laura Lundy Model
The Laura Lundy model is a ground breaking framework for meaningful child participation, developed by Professor Laura Lundy from Queen's University Belfast. It provides a comprehensive approach to listening to children and involving them in decision-making processes that affect their lives.
The Four Key Elements
The model consists of four interconnected components:
- Space: Creating safe, inclusive environments where children feel comfortable expressing their views.
- Voice: Providing children with opportunities to share their opinions and experiences freely.
- Audience: Ensuring that children's views are actually listened to by decision-makers.
- Influence: Demonstrating how children's perspectives genuinely impact outcomes and decisions.
The Laura Lundy model goes beyond simply hearing children's voices. It emphasises the right of children to:
- Be taken seriously
- Have their views considered in meaningful ways
- Participate in decisions that affect their lives
- Feel respected and valued as active citizens
By implementing the Lundy model, organisations can create more inclusive, child-centered approaches that respect children's rights and perspectives.
