What is a young carer?
A young carer is a young person aged between 6 and 18 who cares for a family member such as their mum, dad, brother, sister or grandparents who suffer with:
- a physical disability
- a learning disability
- a terminal illness
- their mental health
- substance and alcohol misuse
CarersTrust4All offers a range of support to young carers and gives them a safe space to have fun, make friends and have 1:1 support.
The core aim of support is to provide respite from their caring role. This respite is offered in a group setting, mixing with other young carers from their local area.
You can find more information about Carerstrust4all Young Carers on the Local Offer website and further information about the Young Carers Group through the Carerstrust4all website.
